About the Group

The Ultrafast Microscopy and Magnetism Research Group is a new group led by Prof. Jacob Burgess at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University Of Manitoba.

The group studies spin and carrier dynamics in magnetic thin films, nanomagetic elements, and correlated electron systems using time-resolved scanning tunnelling microscopy in concert with optical measurements including magneto-optical magnetometry and THz spectroscopy.
