Several items of interest will be put on the web: an updated
syllabus, assignments and other
information about the course.
-
- Assignments: There will be frequent assignments in order to help you digest the material. Late assignments are not
accepted - please hand in what you have by the due date. An honesty declaration should be completed and handed in with each assignment.
-
- Midterm Examination: There will be TWO 50 minute midterm exams, tentatively
scheduled for February 7, 2014 and March 14, 2014 during the normal lecture slot.
The exams will consist of questions and problems similar to those found in the text. Each exam is closed book, but you will be permitted
to have one eight and a half by eleven inch sheet of notes to aid you. In
addition, there will be a formula sheet provided. No makeup midterm exams will
be given. A fair assessment will be made for certified absence in a test after
the final examination has been written.
-
- Final Examination: The final exam will be on all the material covered
during the course, but will emphasize material not yet tested. It will be
3 hours in length. Once again one sheet of notes may be used.
-
- Course Grade: Final grades will be determined as follows:
- Assignments - 30%
- Term tests - 10% each
- Final exam - 50%
