REQUIRED MATERIALS
Physics by J.D. Cutnell and K.W. Johnson, 8th Edition
This book is available in the bookstore as a special “binder-ready” version, which includes a licence to use WileyPLUS that will be used in this course for homework assignments. The same licence will be valid also for PHYS 1030. The price of the binder-ready printed version with WileyPLUS has been discounted, so that its price is less than the price of only the WileyPLUS license when this licence purchased at the bookstore.
Note: earlier editions of the textbook may also be used, but a separate WileyPLUS licence must also be purchased. This licence can be purchased online at the WileyPLUS site. While the material is largely the same in the various editions of the text, the problem numbers are different in some cases. Chapters 1-14 of the text will be covered. In addition, you are responsible for understanding error analysis from the lab (i.e. propagation of errors in simple mathematical operations).

Homework problems from the textbook will be assigned via the WileyPLUS online learning and evaluation system. Additional aids to solving problems and understanding the important concepts are available in the Read, Study & Practice section of the WileyPLUS site. Note: If an earlier edition of the textbook is used, a separate WileyPLUS licence must also be purchased.
